Optimal Seal Performance: - Tightly seals the ring on the IP cover, creating a strong, penetrating seal - Minimal gaps, ensuring the seal lasts and remains tight - Excellent performance in maintaining pressure during canning and cooking

Installation Steps: 1. Remove the old sealing ring and overpressure plug (if applicable). 2. Thoroughly clean the sealing ring groove and air vent opening, ensuring they are free of food particles and foreign matter. 3. Wash the new sealing ring in warm soapy water, rinse, and dry. Install the ring by working it into the cover in small sections until it is fully in place. 4. If necessary, apply a light coating of cooking oil to the underside of the body lugs and sealing ring to facilitate easier opening and closing of the cover. 5. Install the overpressure plug by pushing the round, marked side into the opening from the underside of the cover. 6. When putting the cover on the body, press one hand down on the area opposite the handle to help compress the sealing ring and make the cover easy to lock in place. Open and close the cover several times to ensure smooth operation.

Compatibility: This sealing ring is designed to replace the 09985 Presto parts and fit Presto pressure canner models 0174510 (16-Quart), 0175107 (18-Quart), 0175510 (16-Quart), 0178107 (23-Quart), 0178209 (23-Quart), and 0178410 (23-Quart).

Functionality: The sealing ring forms a secure, pressure-tight seal between the cover and the body of the pressure canner during canning and cooking. Replace the sealing ring every two to three years or when the canner can no longer build or maintain pressure. Immediate replacement is recommended if the ring has shrunk, become hard, deformed, cracked, worn, or pitted.
